Cetaphil Gentle Clear Mattifying Acne Moisturizer
Updated Nov 8, 2026 · Top Moisturizers for Oily Skin
Best for Acne-prone oily skin that wants a matte lotion with salicylic acid, and is not already using another leave-on acid.
A light lotion with 0.5 percent salicylic acid, niacinamide, and zinc gluconate, sold for acne-prone sensitive skin. Dr. Marisa Garshick told SELF it does not leave skin looking or feeling greasy, and a later SELF acne guide quotes her on the matte finish. Dr. Dufner, in that same guide, points to the salicylic acid for clearing pores. The guide also lists a limit: this bottle is not oil-free. The brand's 48-hour hydration line is its own claim. Skip it if you already use a retinoid, benzoyl peroxide, or another acid every night. Stacking exfoliants is how oily skin ends up flaky and more shiny.
